Operation Hat Trick Supports Wounded and Recovering Service Members and Veterans with Donation to The Warrior For Life Fund
HAMPTON, N.H. (February 6, 2020) – Operation Hat Trick, a nonprofit that supports the recovery of wounded service members and veterans through the sale of its branded merchandise, recently made a donation to the Warrior For Life Fund. The donation will be used for a Warrior Ice Center and programming for veterans.
Operation Hat Trick began in 2008 in honor of two fallen Navy SEALS, Nate Hardy and Mike Koch, who are buried next to each other at Arlington National Cemetery. The nonprofit works with colleges and universities, sports leagues, companies and fans across the U.S. to honor active-duty military and veterans through the sale of its branded merchandise.
“Operation Hat Trick is humbled and proud of the support we have received, thus making it possible for us to have an impact and make a difference for those in need as we strive to fill some critical gaps in care,” said Dot Sheehan, founder, president/CEO of Operation Hat Trick. “Our mission is to support the recovery of wounded service members and veterans, so the mission of The Warrior For Life Fund fits perfectly.”
Warrior For Life Fund President Tony Cabana said “Our mission aligns well with the Operation Hat Trick mission in that our organization is focused on supporting active duty, retired veterans and their families, especially from the Naval Special Warfare community, as they transition through the unique challenges of combat service. We’re looking forward to a long-lasting partnership with OHT as we work to improve the infrastructure for the game of hockey and supporting the military in the Hampton Roads area.”
Since 2014, Operation Hat Trick has donated over $1.6 million to various veteran service organizations to support the recovery of service members and veterans.

About The Warrior for Life Fund:
The Warrior For Life Fund, originally founded as the Virginia Beach Hockey Club, Challenge Team in 2012, focused on providing the Hampton Roads military community a forum to develop a team atmosphere and a positive environment for mentors and all athletes who want to learn to play hockey. In early 2019, the board members saw an opportunity to add to their mission by incorporating a focus on raising funds to reinvigorate the infrastructure of their current home ice rink, Iceland of Hampton Roads. With this refocus, the Warrior For Life Fund was born. Initially partnering with the Navy SEAL Foundation, the Boston Bruins Alumni, the Boston Bruins Foundations, and now Operation Hat Trick, the Warrior For Life Fund is better able to support their community outreach through the game of ice hockey.
